Tree Pruning

The Arbor Surgeon provides tree pruning in Kanab and surrounding areas. Pruning can improve tree structure, remove dead or damaged branches, and provide clearance where needed.

Tree Pruning Services

Pruning needs vary by tree and condition. Each tree is evaluated before work begins to avoid unnecessary cuts.

Deadwood Removal

Remove dead, broken, or hanging branches that can fall or cause problems.

Structural Pruning

Improve branch structure and reduce defects that can become larger problems as the tree grows.

Clearance Pruning

Provide clearance from roofs, structures, driveways, walkways, and other areas where branches interfere.

Young Tree Pruning

Establish better structure while the tree is young and problems are easier to correct.

Mature Tree Pruning

Remove selected branches while maintaining the tree’s structure and living canopy.

Fruit Tree Pruning

Fruit tree pruning helps maintain structure, manage size, and support fruit production. Most fruit tree pruning is performed during the dormant season.

Why Proper Pruning Matters

Poor pruning can create weak growth, large wounds, and structural problems. Removing too much at once can also stress a tree. Proper pruning means removing the right branches while keeping the tree’s health and structure intact.

Tree Topping

The Arbor Surgeon does not recommend topping healthy trees as a routine pruning practice. Topping removes large portions of the canopy and can lead to decay, weak new growth, and long-term structural problems. If a tree has outgrown its location, we’ll discuss the practical options before work begins.
